The dream of having a Baptist Homes’ campus in the Kansas City metroplex has become a reality. Breaking from tradition, this campus was acquired and not built from the ground-up. The campus, formerly known as Truman Gardens and Independence Chateau, is located in the historic city of Independence and is located off a quiet street in a family-friendly community. While small, it has a charm all its own. One entire wing has been recently updated with new carpet, paint and furnishings. The facility has a large dining area with large windows which provide an abundance of natural light. Also distinctive to this campus, is a very spacious and well-equipped physical therapy department and an enclosed courtyard with a garden area for residents who desire a quiet space to think, reflect and pray. In the days before Covid, the entire community utilized the physical therapy and rehab department for outpatient services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Have Memory Care or Accept Residents with Alzheimer’s or Other Dementias?2021-03-03T09:37:20-06:00

Yes, the Baptist Homes is dedicated to providing person-centered care. Memory care, which is also called Dementia or Alzheimer’s care, is usually tailored for the unique needs of the resident. The Baptist Homes practice Inclusive Memory CareSM that includes specialized training for our staff that allows residents to stay connected to their campus’s community and chapel services rather than being locked away in an “Alzheimer’s Ward.”

How Much Can I Expect to Pay at the Baptist Homes for my Care?2021-03-03T09:43:04-06:00

The Baptist Homes strive to provide quality health care at an affordable price. While the Baptist Homes are not a
Medicare or Medicaid provider, our staff will work with the resident and family to find available resources to help
cover the cost of care. Financial assistance may be available for those who are unable to pay the full cost of their care. The need for financial assistance can be discussed during the admission process.
